TruCluster Server Administration
Course Number: U500
Students will learn to design, install, maintain, and troubleshoot a TruCluster Server V5.x. Students will learn to write scripts to make applications highly available, create and manager Cluster Aliases, use Tru64 and TruCluster System Administration tools effectively in a Cluster, and monitor and troubleshoot TruCluster resources.
Students will learn how Oracle integrates into a truCluster environment as both a single instance application and as OPS.
This course is designed for students who have experience managing Tru64 UNIX V5.x systems and who need to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot a TruCluster Server.
Students should be proficient in Tru64 System Administration.
Upon Completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Determine the hardware needs for your TruCluster configuration
- Install and configure TruCluster Hardware
- Use clu_create to effectively create a one member cluster
- Add, remove and manage Cluster Members
- Manage and understand Quorum Disks and the Connection Manager
- Understand which System Administration tools are different, and how they are different, in a Cluster
- Configure Networking in a Cluster
- Understand the Tru64 UNIX I/O Subsystem and its impact on Storage and Clustering
- Write CAA scripts to create highly available applications
- Understand, add, remove and manage Cluster Aliases
- Identify and resolve common and complex cluster-related problems
- Understand how a TruCluster effects configuration of SANs, in particular StorageWorks
- Understand the Difference between Oracle as a Single Instance highly available application and OPS
